Fashion Knitwear Design
Fashion Knitwear Design is becoming an increasingly important fashion discipline and has grown to encompass high fashion, cut-and-sew jersey, stretch and body wear as well as the traditional quality and craft styles. The knitwear pathway embraces the breadth of creative approaches to knitwear. Students will become conversant with a wide variety of techniques - from hand skills to new technology - and with materials with which distinctive knitwear and jersey fashion can be created. The aim is to realise adventurous knitwear design ideas relevant to the wide spectrum of the international fashion market.
Students have the opportunity to explore how knitwear interacts with the other creative fashion disciplines, across menswear and womenswear.
