This site is an online resource center from the University of British Columbia Library. It contains resources on costume design, exhibitions and museums, libraries, and organizations relating to costume design.
The Costume Society of America advances the global understanding of all aspects of dress and appearance. They value five major purposes: 1) To Stimulate scholarship and encourage study in the rich and diverse field of costume; 2) To disseminate information on dress and appearance; 3) To raise the profile and credibility of the field of costume; 4) To newtork among our members and with other people and organizations having costume interests; 5) To manage and govern the organization to serve the membership. The Costume Society seeks members who are involved in the study, education, collection, and perservation, presentation, and interpretation of dress and appearance in our past, present, and future societies.
