Polimoda is a highly specialized fashion and design school located in Florence, Italy. We maintain close ties and continuously collaborate with the fashion industry to continue to provide current students with high-quality professional training in tune with the needs of the current international fashion scene and industry.
Our Italian fashion school offers undergraduate and graduate design master courses in the production, sales, marketing and merchandising sectors of the fashion industry, both in English and Italian. Polimoda is particularly well-known for its specialized courses in fashion marketing and its fashion merchandising program. Our fashion design school also prepares students who wish to specialize in the footwear and accessories markets or in fashion textiles.
Fashion Design
During the first year, students learn the basics of graphics, the origins of fashion, specialized computer skills, English and introduction to garment and knitwear production. In the second year, they advance to an in-depth study and development of a women's wear collections together with their choice of either knitwear or men's wear design.
Development is aided by some introductory marketing concepts and the use of the computer. They will get to carry out projects in cooperation with the clothing textile industry and exhibit their garments in fashion fairs. During the third year, students integrate the study of collection development and production with that of fashion trends, product development, portfolio organization and preparation for an internship. At the end of the academic year, students will exhibit the collections they have developed and produced under the guidance of important fashion houses during a fashion show/gala, which is attended by members of press, government and business community.
